In response to growing demand, the Highways Department recently submitted a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to the state government for approval. The plan, estimated at ₹43 crore, proposes widening the existing 30-ft two-lane road into a 60-ft four-lane stretch.

“The Marudhamalai main road was widened till Vadavalli years ago, which helped ease congestion to some extent. We now plan to extend the four-lane widening up to the foothills to make the route seamless.”
